Shelley White fits this bill.
She is self-taught in the days before the internet or videos instruction in a small towns night school classes
The love for pottery started to grow while living in small town in British Columbia. She took a night school course and found her new love of creating a formed art form the earth in clay.
She developed her passion by pouring over videos. She collected and read countless books and kept copious notes.She attended many symposiums and conferences.
She studied at Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts. Other courses and studied with Robin Hopper.
This resulted in the development of some of her most famous glazes
This self-taught devotion has developed the passion and skills that would lead to turning earth into pottery.

The New Studio
During this time, she and her husband were in Abbotsford BC in a townhouse, but they were always looking to have a place with more space
In 2004, they moved to the country to a beautiful ½ acre location near the Vedder River.
The Yarrow home is located between Abbotsford and Chilliwack on the way to Cultus lake where it is real country living.
The property has views of breathtaking Mountains views and Majestic trees virtually in the backyard

It is also right on the road to close to the famous Cultus Lake water slides Many people love to spend time driving or cycling or hiking in the area.
The year-round the beauty of this location charged Shelley’s creativity.
This required that a home-based production studio to be built so she could let her imagination and talent go. With studio up, she started to create the unique pieces and colours that are available today.

Shelley’s work started to become known.It is an authentic handmade and Handcrafted pottery with unique colours.
They wanted to add to personal collections or find homemade gifts at Christmas or special occasions. It became clear that an outlet would be required.

This is where the functional pottery can be viewed and is available to buy on site
Shelley has created over 36 different items
Visitors to the showroom will find homemade handcrafted in many different colours gallery.
